Work you’ll do

Responsibilities

  • Participate in technical accounting and audit methodology consultations, and provide practical, high-quality technical support to SEA Audit & Assurance engagement teams.
  • Research, analyse and communicate emerging financial reporting and audit developments, including areas such as digital assets, carbon markets, sustainability reporting and other complex or evolving technical matters.
  • Support the development and delivery of technical learning activities, including technical updates, training materials, guidance notes and practice aids.
  • Contribute to Deloitte’s accounting and auditing publications, including quarterly newsletters, technical articles and internal guidance materials.
  • Represent or support Deloitte’s participation in relevant technical forums and subject matter groups, including MASB working groups, MIA committees, AASB working committees and Deloitte internal working groups.
  • Develop internal and external eminence by building relationships with engagement teams, professional bodies, regulators and other relevant organisations.
  • Support regulatory inspections and related audit quality initiatives across SEA, including preparation, coordination, technical analysis and follow-up activities.

Requirements

  • Minimum five years of audit, financial reporting, accounting advisory or related technical experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related discipline.
  • Recognised professional qualification or membership, such as MIA, ACCA, CAANZ or equivalent.
  • Willingness to travel within SEA as required by the role, projects and stakeholders supported.

Preferred

  • Strong and current technical knowledge of IFRS/MFRS and International Standards on Auditing, with the ability to apply standards to complex fact patterns.
  • Ability to conduct independent technical research, identify relevant requirements and articulate clear, well-reasoned conclusions.
  • Strong written communication skills, including the ability to synthesise complex information into concise technical guidance, consultation responses and learning materials.
  • Confident presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to explain technical matters clearly to partners, managers and engagement teams.
  • Good project and time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and work independently.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build credibility with engagement teams, technical specialists, professional bodies and other external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work effectively in a regional and virtual environment, including collaboration across countries, teams and time zones.
