Freelance Video & Content Editor

100% Remote | Flexible Hours (Work Anytime, Anywhere)

Are you a creative short-form video editor who knows how to craft viral hooks, sharp pacing, and clean captions? We are looking for a reliable, independent editor to help build a growing social media brand for a New Zealand Travel Guidebook (specifically targeting Malaysian and Singaporean travelers)!

Experience Level: Beginners and fresh talent are welcome! We do not focus on years of experience—as long as your editing style matches our brand vibe and long-term focus, we are happy to hire you!

What You Will Do

Deliverable Volume: 18 to 21 pieces per month:

• 70% Reels/ Videos: Dynamic short-form video editing (hooks, captions, pacing, audio, calls-to-action).
• 30% Static Posts / Carousels: Simple image layouts, cover titles, or photo curation for Instagram.

Monthly Rhythm and Workload:

• Weeks 1 to 3 (Production): Deliver 6 to 7 items per week, edited on your own schedule.
• Week 4 (The Breathing and Strategy Week): Zero editing deliverables! Use this week to recharge, review performance, and join one 1-hour monthly catch-up call with us to align on next month's content brief.

Full Flexibility: Work whenever and wherever you want in the world, as long as weekly deadlines are met and content stays batched ahead of time.

Compensation, Incentives, and Bonuses

• Monthly Service Retainer: RM400 - RM600 per month (invoiced monthly).
• Performance Bonuses: Cash bonuses of RM30 - RM50 per video when Reels hit engagement milestones (saves, shares, and high views).
• The Ultimate Annual Bonus: Achieve 12,000,000 Total Organic Views across all posted Reels/Shorts over a 12-month period, and we will sponsor a Return Economy Flight Ticket to New Zealand (up to RM3,000 value) so you can experience the destination yourself!

Planned Leave Policy

Need time off? No problem! For any planned leave longer than 1 week, simply give 30 days' advance notice and batch the required posts prior to taking leave so your monthly retainer remains fully paid while you enjoy your break.

Requirements

• Punctuality and Reliability: Ability to consistently hit agreed weekly deadlines (deliverables on Weeks 1 to 3) and respond to minor revision feedback within 24 to 48 hours.
• Proficiency in Editing Software: Comfortable using CapCut, Premiere Pro, or Final Cut Pro.
• Good Content Sense: Understanding of short-form video pacing, hook creation, clean text layouts, and social media trends.
• Open Communication: Easy to reach and willing to join our 1-hour monthly catch-up call.
• Location: Based in SEA / Malaysia / Singapore preferred (for smooth communication and bank transfers or Wise), but open to anyone worldwide.

How to Apply and Hiring Process

1. Write a Short Cover Letter: Include a brief introduction sharing your favorite editing tools and why you are interested in editing travel content for a New Zealand guidebook.
2. Send Your Portfolio: Send a link to your past work, portfolio, or Drive folder showing examples of short-form video edits (Reels, TikToks, or Shorts).
3. Watermarked 15-Second Trial: Shortlisted candidates will be sent a brief 15-second raw clip and voice note to edit a sample hook. Note: To protect your work, we insist you place a giant "TEST/DRAFT" watermark across the center of your video submission. We will not use or publish any trial edits.
