We are seeking a hands-on Senior Interior Designer to oversee design, renovation and upgrading projects across our hotel portfolio.
The successful candidate will ensure that hotel designs, materials, finishes, furniture and guest-facing areas comply with the Group’s brand standards, operational requirements, approved budgets, project timelines and relevant regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate hotel renovation, refurbishment and upgrading projects.
- Develop interior concepts, layouts, mood boards and material selections.
- Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications and FF&E schedules.
- Establish and maintain physical design and brand standards for the hotels.
- Prepare project scopes, budgets, tender documents and quotation comparisons.
- Coordinate consultants, contractors, suppliers and hotel operations teams.
- Review shop drawings, material samples and mock-up rooms.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, workmanship and design compliance.
- Coordinate architectural, structural, M&E, fire-safety and other specialist requirements.
- Coordinate plan submissions, approvals and inspections with appointed consultants and relevant authorities.
- Liaise with local authorities, BOMBA, JKKP, SPAN, TNB and other regulatory bodies where applicable.
- Monitor the validity and completion of required approvals, licences, certificates, testing and compliance documentation.
- Ensure renovation works comply with approved plans, statutory requirements, building regulations and fire-safety standards.
- Monitor project timelines, costs, variations and procurement schedules.
- Manage project handover, defect inspections and rectification works.
- Ensure contractors submit as-built drawings, warranties, test certificates, operation manuals and relevant compliance records.
- Maintain an approved database of materials, contractors, vendors and suppliers.
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Interior Architecture, Interior Design, Architecture or a related field.
- Minimum five years of relevant experience.
- Hospitality, resort, serviced-apartment or commercial interior experience is preferred.
- Experience managing projects from concept and detailed design through construction and handover.
- Experience coordinating plan submissions, authority approvals and regulatory compliance.
- Familiarity with local authority, BOMBA, JKKP, SPAN and other relevant Malaysian regulatory requirements.
- Strong AutoCAD and technical-drawing skills.
- Proficiency in SketchUp and rendering software is preferred.
- Good knowledge of materials, finishes, joinery, furniture and FF&E.
- Working knowledge of architectural, M&E and fire-safety coordination.
- Strong project coordination, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Able to manage multiple projects and work independently.
- Willing to travel regularly between hotel locations.

Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM6,000.00 per month
