Job Description

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate for this role is a proactive and detail-oriented IBM DataPower Administrator with hands-on experience managing IBM DataPower Gateway and IBM API Connect environments. You will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and performance of enterprise API gateways while supporting production environments, troubleshooting complex issues, and maintaining high availability across integration platforms.

Responsibilities:


• Install, configure, administer, and maintain IBM DataPower Gateway environments.

• Configure and manage Multi-Protocol Gateway (MPGW), Web Service Proxy (WSP), API Gateway, XML Firewall, XML Managers, SSL Profiles, and Crypto Objects.

• Administer IBM API Connect, including Gateway Services, Catalogs, Spaces, and API deployments.

• Configure and maintain integration between IBM API Connect and IBM DataPower, including Gateway Peering.

• Manage gateway security configurations, including SSL/TLS certificates, mTLS, OAuth 2.0, and related security policies.

• Monitor gateway performance, system health, and logs, proactively identifying and resolving production issues.

• Perform firmware upgrades, backup and recovery activities, and routine platform maintenance.

• Troubleshoot connectivity issues involving backend applications, IBM MQ, and API Connect environments.

• Prepare technical documentation and provide L2 production support while collaborating with development and infrastructure teams.


Requirements:


• 3–5 years of hands-on experience administering IBM DataPower Gateway.

• Working knowledge of IBM API Connect administration and deployment.

• Strong understanding of REST APIs, SOAP Web Services, XML, and JSON.

• Experience with SSL/TLS, mTLS, OAuth 2.0, and API security best practices.

• Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems.

• Basic knowledge of IBM MQ and enterprise integration concepts.

• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
