Role Description The Audit & Accounts Associate, Senior is a full-time, on-site role based in WP. Kuala Lumpur. This role involves preparing and reviewing full sets of accounts, managing bookkeeping entries, and ensuring accurate financial reporting in line with applicable standards and regulatory requirements. The associate will support audit coordination with partner firms, assist in audit fieldwork, and prepare working papers and schedules for statutory audits. Daily tasks include reconciling accounts, supporting tax computations, assisting with compliance documentation for SSM and LHDN, and responding to queries from clients and authorities. The role also includes collaborating with internal teams to improve processes, maintaining organized records, and providing clear, professional communication to clients regarding their financial and compliance status.

Qualifications

  • Strong accounting and bookkeeping skills, including preparation of full sets of accounts and account reconciliations.
  • Experience with audit processes, including preparation of audit schedules, working papers, and liaison with external auditors.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and cloud-based systems, with solid Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree or professional qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (e.g., ACCA, CPA finalist or equivalent preferred).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail capabilities, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple assignments.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with clients and colleagues.
  • Relevant experience in corporate services, audit, or public practice is highly beneficial; familiarity with SSM requirements is a plus.
