Job Title: IBM ODM & BAW Developer
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced technology professional to join our application development team, focusing on enterprise business rules, decision automation, and workflow solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering and supporting complex applications built on (ODM) and (BAW) platforms.
This role will work closely with business and technology stakeholders to translate functional requirements into scalable technical solutions. The position will also be involved in application enhancements, platform upgrades, production support, system integration, and technical troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the technical delivery of enterprise applications involving business rules, decision services, workflow automation, and system integration.
- Translate business and functional requirements into technical designs and effective application solutions.
- Develop, configure, test, deploy, and maintain applications across the complete software development lifecycle.
- Design and manage business decision logic using IBM ODM, including rule authoring, decision tables, rule flows, and associated rule execution components.
- Build and enhance workflow and process automation solutions using IBM BAW and related IBM BPM technologies.
- Provide ongoing application maintenance and production support in line with agreed service levels and operational standards.
- Investigate and resolve complex application incidents, defects, and technical issues that may affect system availability or business operations.
- Perform root-cause analysis, performance optimisation, troubleshooting, and system tuning where required.
- Participate in IBM ODM and BAW version upgrades, platform migrations, patching, and application remediation activities.
- Ensure application development and delivery adhere to established IT governance, security, quality, and development standards.
- Collaborate with developers, architects, business analysts, infrastructure teams, and other stakeholders to deliver technical solutions effectively.
- Provide technical guidance and share knowledge with other members of the development team.
- Contribute to Agile development practices, technical discussions, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Technical Requirements
- 8+ years of hands-on experience working with IBM Operational Decision Manager (ODM), particularly ODM 8.10.x or similar versions.
- Strong experience with IBM Rule Designer, Rule Execution Server, Decision Center, and rule-based decision services.
- Solid knowledge of Business Object Model (BOM), Execution Object Model (XOM), decision tables, technical rules, and rule flows.
- Strong understanding of business rules development, rule authoring, testing, deployment, and execution.
- Proven experience supporting IBM ODM upgrades, migrations, patching, production environments, defect resolution, troubleshooting, and performance optimisation.
- Hands-on experience designing and implementing complex enterprise applications using IBM BAW, IBM BPM, and Workflow platforms, preferably BAW v20.x.
- Experience across application development activities including requirements analysis, solution design, programming, testing, deployment, and implementation.
- Knowledge of Process Admin, IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS), Java / Java EE, JavaScript, RDBMS, SQL, RESTful APIs, and API integration.
- Exposure to IBM MQ, Shell Scripting, Batch Scripting, and Git-based source code management is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies and collaborative development environments.
- Experience working within the insurance or financial services domain will be an added advantage.

Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline.
