About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Technology Obsolescence Program Lead to drive enterprise-wide efforts to identify, assess, and remediate technology obsolescence risks. The successful candidate will lead a cross-functional task force responsible for managing End-of-Life (EOL), End-of-Support (EOS), and legacy technology risks across applications, infrastructure, and platforms.

This role requires strong leadership, technology risk management expertise, and the ability to drive remediation activities across multiple stakeholder groups.

Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Governance

• Establish and lead the Technology Obsolescence Task Force comprising stakeholders across Infrastructure, Applications, Security, Architecture, CMDB, Procurement, Finance, and Risk.
• Define program scope, governance structure, success metrics, timelines, and reporting requirements.
• Drive rapid decision-making, issue resolution, and risk escalation to support remediation objectives.

Technology Assessment & Risk Management

• Conduct assessments to identify obsolete, unsupported, and high-risk technologies across the technology estate.
• Evaluate EOL, EOS, and vendor support risks impacting infrastructure, platforms, applications, and services.
• Assess operational, security, regulatory, audit, and financial risks associated with technology obsolescence.
• Leverage CMDB and technology inventory data to identify dependencies, ownership, and potential impact areas.
• Partner with Risk and ORSA teams to ensure technology risks are appropriately assessed, documented, and managed.

Remediation Planning & Execution

• Develop and drive remediation strategies, including upgrades, migrations, replacements, isolation controls, and decommissioning activities.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to execute remediation initiatives and remove delivery blockers.
• Monitor progress, manage risks, and ensure delivery within agreed timelines.

Stakeholder Management & Reporting

• Serve as the central point of accountability for technology obsolescence risks within the program.
• Communicate risk exposure, remediation status, priorities, and key decisions to senior management and governance forums.
• Prepare dashboards, KPIs, and executive-level reporting to track program performance and outcomes.

Requirements

Technical & Domain Expertise

• Strong experience in Technology Obsolescence Management, Technology Lifecycle Management, IT Infrastructure Management, or Technology Risk Management.
• Strong understanding of enterprise IT infrastructure, including servers, operating systems, databases, middleware, networks, storage, cloud platforms, and end-user computing technologies.
• Experience utilizing CMDB, technology asset inventories, and dependency mapping to support risk assessment and remediation planning.
• Familiarity with ORSA (Operational Risk Self-Assessment), technology risk frameworks, controls, and governance processes.
• Broad understanding of infrastructure, platforms, applications, and vendor support lifecycle models.
• Knowledge of security, regulatory, audit, and operational resilience considerations related to obsolete technologies.

Leadership & Delivery Experience

• 10-12+ years of experience in IT leadership, infrastructure, enterprise architecture, technology risk, governance, or program delivery roles.
• Proven track record leading large-scale cross-functional remediation, modernization, or risk reduction initiatives.
• Strong execution mindset with the ability to drive outcomes under time-sensitive and high-risk conditions.

Stakeholder & Communication Skills

• Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills with the ability to drive alignment without direct authority.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to translate complex technology risks into clear business impacts and actionable remediation plans.
