What You'll Do

Technology Leadership & Strategy

• Define and execute the technology vision, architecture, and delivery roadmap across multiple regulated financial services platforms.
• Design and oversee secure, scalable, cloud-native systems that meet regulatory expectations from day one.
• Lead technology engagements with regulators, auditors, and key stakeholders.

Platform & Product Engineering

• Build and scale core platforms supporting remittance, e-wallet, merchant payments, and digital asset exchange services.
• Drive the development of high-availability transaction systems, ledgers, reconciliation engines, and settlement platforms.
• Oversee integrations with payment rails, banking partners, and third-party service providers.

Cybersecurity & Technology Risk

• Establish and maintain a robust cybersecurity and IT risk framework aligned with regulatory requirements.
• Lead vulnerability management, penetration testing, incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity initiatives.
• Own enterprise security architecture, identity and access management, encryption, and secure software development practices.

Cloud & Infrastructure

• Lead cloud architecture, infrastructure operations, monitoring, reliability, and resilience initiatives.
• Manage technology vendors, cloud providers, and outsourced technology partners.
• Ensure platform scalability, performance, and operational excellence.

Team Building & Leadership

• Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing engineering, DevOps, security, and technology teams.
• Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, security, and continuous improvement.
• Report technology performance, risks, and strategic initiatives to executive leadership and the Board.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 10–15 years of technology experience within fintech, financial services, or highly regulated industries.
• At least 4–6 years in a senior technology leadership role such as CTO, Head of Technology, Engineering Director, or equivalent.
• Proven experience delivering and operating large-scale production systems in areas such as:
• Payments & Remittance
• Digital Wallets / E-Money
• Digital Asset Exchange / Custody Platforms
• Strong expertise in cloud-native architecture, microservices, APIs, and high-availability transaction systems.
• Deep understanding of cybersecurity, secure SDLC, identity and access management, cryptography, and technology risk management.
• Experience building technology teams and platforms from the ground up in startup, scale-up, or newly licensed environments is highly desirable.

Nice to Have

• Experience working within BNM and/or SC Malaysia regulated environments.
• Knowledge of RMiT, AML/KYC technologies, blockchain infrastructure, and digital asset custody solutions.
• Experience with AWS, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, DuitNow, FPX, or RENTAS integrations.
• Exposure to stablecoin, tokenization, or digital asset infrastructure projects
