Responsibilities:

Infrastructure Support

• Proactively monitor the performance and availability of applications, servers, and systems.
• Use monitoring tools to track system health and performance metrics
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, errors, and outages.
• Perform checking and fixing on servers, the procedures and instructions will be provided by HKEX.

Change Implementation

• Ensure all application changes, system deployments, fixes and patches are released with testing completion, UAT signoffs, production releases schedule confirmation.
• All issues reported during testing and UAT phases are resolved and being tested with positive result.
• Compose procedures and document the change procedures and results. Implement fully approved changes.

Application Support

• Ensure the smooth operation of business-critical applications.
• Troubleshoot application-related issues and coordinate with development teams for resolution.
• Perform application batch processing, deployments, updates, and patches in coordination with DevOps or engineering teams.

Incident Management

• Record system and application issues, identify owners to take responsibilities on all issues.
• Keep track on all reported problems, make sure they are being handled or in progress to be handled with resolution timeline.
• Understand the ITIL incident management lifecycle, ensure works and process are ITIL compliance.

Team Supervision and Support

• Provide guidance and support to team members during the shift.
• Ensure team members follow operational procedures, policies, and compliance requirements.
• Act as the first level of escalation for team-related or operational issues.

Requirements

• Tertiary education with technology major.
• Minimum 7 years working experience in IT operations or system administrations, with at least 3 years in supervisory or team lead role.
• Strong communication skills, particularly in incident handling and escalation scenarios.
• Proficiency in platforms like Linux, Windows, AWS, Azure, VMware, or Docker, Knowledge on zOS would be added advantage.
• Deep understanding of kernels, filesystems and comfortable in working on command-line interfaces.
• Experience in middleware like Apache, Tomcat and IIS.
• Familiar with databases (e.g. Oracle, DB2, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Knowledge on scripting languages like Python, Perl, Ansible, PowerShell and Bash/ksh/csh.
• Understand the concept of IT Service Management (ITSM), with experience on using ServiceNow.
• Knowledge on protocols like TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SSH.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Attention to details and ability to follow complex procedures and handling complex data.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Willing to work on irregular hours.
