Job Description

Responsibilities

  1. RESPONSIBILITIES


Financial Closing:

  1. Perform month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities, including the preparation, review and posting of journal entries to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.


  1. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Underwriting, Claims, Actuarial, FP&A, Reinsurance and IT, to ensure the completeness, accuracy and consistency of financial data for local reporting, group reporting and intercompany reconciliations.


  1. Perform financial analysis and balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances and ensure timely resolution of outstanding issues.


Financial Reporting:

  1. Prepare and review regulatory returns, statutory reports and financial statements in compliance with MAS requirements, IFRS 17 standards and other applicable reporting requirements.


  1. Prepare and deliver accurate monthly financial reporting packages and group reporting submissions in accordance with group reporting requirements and timelines.


  1. Assist with internal and external audits, including the preparation of supporting schedules and documentation and provide timely responses to audit queries.


  1. Undertake any other responsibilities as assigned by the Financial Controller.


Finance Data and Process Automation:

  1. Support process enhancement initiatives to improve operational efficiency, reporting accuracy, controls and governance, including:
  2. Automation of financial close processes, and optimization of data workflows to minimize manual efforts and maximize productivity.


  1. Strengthen internal controls and compliance while improving transparency and accuracy.


  1. Finance system implementations, upgrades and integrations.


  1. EDUCATION / PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION
  2. Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, Actuarial Science, Data Science or a related discipline.


  1. Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in regulatory and financial reporting, process improvement and data analytics.
  2. Professional qualifications such as CA Singapore, ACCA, CPA, actuarial certifications, or data analytics credentials are highly desirable.


  1. Prior experience in insurance financial reporting or working with renowned audit firms is an advantage.


  1. WORK EXPERIENCE & ANY SPECIFIC SKILLS SET REQUIRED


Skills & Key Competencies

  1. Familiarity with MAS insurance regulations and insurance accounting standards (e.g., IFRS 17, IFRS 9) is an advantage.


  1. Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with financial systems (e.g., SUN, SAP) is a plus.


  1. Accountability and reliability in delivering high-quality work.


  1. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.


  1. Ability to prioritize tasks and consistently meet tight deadlines.


  1. Strong communication and collaboration abilities.


  1. Proven ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to team-oriented projects.
