Job Description

Responsibilities

In this role, you will work under the supervision of the Fleet Support Group Manager and coordinate with the Owner’s commercial department to ensure smooth communication with Japanese charterers. You will also contribute to the company by properly managing Moss-type LNG carriers equipped with steam turbine propulsion systems.

Job Scope

  • Ÿ  Oversee the daily technical management of the vessel.
  • Ÿ  Support the vessel in machinery management and provide technical feedback.
  • Ÿ  Ensure the proper implementation and management of the vessel’s Planned Maintenance System (PMS).
  • Ÿ  Review and approve requisitions for spares, repairs, stores, and lubricating oil(L.O.).
  • Ÿ  Monitor the consumption of spares, repairs, stores, and lubricating oil (L.O.).
  • Ÿ  Support the vessel in the efficient management of MGO and BOG.
  • Ÿ  Prepare the OPEX budget, provide explanations to the Charterer, and coordinate with the commercial department to secure the budget for the following year.
  • Ÿ  Provide explanations to the Owner and Charterer in the event of incidents or accidents.
  • Ÿ  Review and manage invoices.
  • Ÿ  Report vessel performance to the Fleet Manager.
  • Ÿ  Prepare dry-docking specifications and arrange the required budget.


Proposed requirement for this position:

  • Ÿ  6 months experience as Chief Engineer or experience for more than 3 years as senior engineer
  • Ÿ  Valid Engine COC holder
  • Ÿ  Knowledge of ISM, EMS,PMS, Repairs and Dry-Docking repairs
  • Ÿ  Good technical knowledge about various marine machinery
  • Ÿ  A desire to drive continuous improvement in self and with others.
  • Analytical, problem solving, time management, project management and decision-making skills
  • Ÿ  Ability to respond positively to Company management in an effective manner
  • Ÿ  Demonstrates teamwork, interpersonal and communications skills
  • Ÿ  Knowledge of propulsion plant and power systems onboard assigned vessels.
  • Ÿ  Preferable for Knowledge of cargo containment system, cargo handling equipment and systems on board assigned vessels.
  • Ÿ  Minimum10 years of experience in the maritime industry. Experience in dry-docking projects is preferred.
  • Ÿ  Strong technical knowledge of various marine machinery. In particular, knowledge of BOG management for Moss-type LNG carriers and boiler water treatment for high-pressure boilers is required.
  • Ÿ  Ability to maintain close communication with Head Office commercial staff and respond effectively to charterers’ requirements.
  • Ÿ  The ability to communicate in Japanese with Head Office staff and charterers is preferred.
  • Ÿ  Demonstrates good teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ÿ  Knowledge of ISM, EMS, PMS, repairs, and dry-docking works.
  • Ÿ  Strong technical knowledge of various marine machinery.
  • Ÿ  A proactive attitude toward continuous improvement, both individually and within the team.
  • Ÿ  Strong analytical, problem-solving, time management, project management, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to respond positively and effectively to company management policies.
