Job Description

Job Summary

Provide database administration support for large-scale relational and NoSQL databases, including Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server and MongoDB environments. Administer, maintain, secure, monitor and support database platforms to meet availability, performance, backup, recovery and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain large-scale relational and NoSQL databases, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server and MongoDB.

• Perform database installation, configuration and upgrades.

• Monitor database performance and provide tuning recommendations to support high availability and efficiency.

• Implement and manage database backup strategies and disaster recovery solutions.

• Perform regular database backups, recovery procedures and data integrity checks.

• Manage and enforce database security protocols, including user access control, authentication and encryption.

• Monitor and audit database access for compliance with security policies.

• Provide day-to-day operational database administration support to meet business needs and service levels.

• Support database changes through the change request process and provide status updates to relevant parties.

• Support incident response, investigation and resolution for database-related issues.

• Maintain database configuration documentation and standard operating procedures.

Essential Qualifications

• Educational qualification: No preference.

• 3–5 years of IT experience.

• Mandatory skill: Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL).

• Experience in Database Administration (DBA).

• Experience administering and maintaining relational and NoSQL databases.

• Experience with database installation, configuration and upgrades.

• Knowledge of database performance monitoring and tuning.

• Experience implementing database backup, recovery and disaster recovery procedures.

• Knowledge of database security controls, including access control, authentication, encryption and audit monitoring. Preferred Attributes

• Supporting skill: IBM DB2 for z/OS. • Supporting skill: Database Administration (DBA).

• Ability to support large-scale database environments.

• Ability to perform data integrity checks and support recovery procedures.

• Ability to support compliance with database security policies.

• Ability to provide timely status updates for database operations, incidents and changes.
