RESPONSIBILITY
Responsible for overseeing and elevating quality standards across Company's core product lines, including lamination, printing, and barrier coating. The incumbent will lead a cross-functional, multi-site quality team and drive meaningful improvements through process optimization and digitalization. A key focus of this role is building strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external partners – including customers, suppliers, and certification bodies – to uphold the company's reputation for excellence and reliability.

Quality Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop local and overseas quality assurance teams to build a high-performance quality culture.
  • Set clear quality objectives, KPIs, and performance targets aligned with the company's strategic goals.
  • Conduct regular team reviews, one-on-ones, and competency assessments to identify training needs and succession pathways.
  • Coordinate effectively across Singapore and regionaloffices to ensure consistent quality standards and practices.

Quality Systems & Standards

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the company's Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with relevant international standards. (ISO 9001, ISO 22000, GMP, and other applicable frameworks)
  • Own the document control framework, ensuring SOPs, work instructions, and quality records are current, accessible, and auditable.
  • Drive continual improvement through structured root cause analysis (RCA), corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes, and quality reviews.
  • Oversee internal audits and manage readiness for external and customer audits.

Product Quality - Lamination, Printing & Barrier Coating

  • Define and oversee quality specifications, test protocols, and acceptance criteria for laminated films, printed packaging, and barrier coating substrates.
  • Monitor critical quality parameters including COBB values, GSM, kit (oil and grease resistance) levels, seal integrity, and print registration and colour accuracy.
  • Lead or support customer qualification and product approval processes, including trials and technical evaluations for new or modified products.
  • Investigate and resolve quality failures, customer complaints, and non-conformances in a systematic and timely manner.
  • Collaborate with R&D and production teams tovalidate new products and coating technologies before commercial release

Process Optimization & Digitalization

  • Identify and lead initiatives to streamline and optimize key quality processes, reducing waste, cycle time, and variability.
  • Champion the digitalization of quality workflows, including electronic data capture, real-time SPC (Statistical Process Control), digital inspection checklists, lab results, COA and QMS platforms.
  • Evaluate, select, and implement digital tools and systems that enhance quality visibility, traceability, and reporting capabilities.
  • Leverage data analytics to generate insights, identify trends, and support proactive quality decision-making across the business.
  • Share best practices and learnings across regional teams to foster cross-site quality improvements.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as the primary quality point of contact for key customers, managing technical queries, audit requests, and quality concerns with professionalism and credibility.
  • Engage proactively with raw material suppliers and third-party partners to ensure incoming material quality and address supply chain risks.
  • Work closely with cross-functional internal teams –including Production, Procurement, Sales, and R&D – to embed quality thinking into all business processes.
  • Represent the company at customer meetings, industry forums, and certification body interactions as required.
  • Prepare and present quality performance reports, dashboards, and improvement roadmaps to senior management.

Regulatory & Compliance

  • Ensure all products meet applicable regulatory requirements for export markets including food contact material regulations, environmental standards, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Maintain awareness of evolving packaging regulations and standards in key markets (e.g., ASEAN, EU, US) and update internal practices accordingly.
  • Manage customer and third-party certifications and ensure timely renewal and maintenance of all quality-related accreditations.

REQUIREMENT

  • Bachelor's degree in Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Packaging Technology, or related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Quality Assurance within manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and audit processes; experience as a lead auditor is an advantage
  • Experience with quality tools (CAPA, etc.)
  • Leadership and team management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Hands-on experience driving process improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies
  • Experience with QMS digitalization projects or implementation of quality technology platforms
