Trans Elevator (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking a sharp, solution-oriented Technical Support Specialist to join our engineering support unit. In this role, you will serve as the core technical expert and direct line of assistance for our field maintenance technicians, project engineers, and high-value clients.
You will troubleshoot complex lift/escalator electronic faults, guide field teams through technical diagrams, and assist in resolving high-level technical issues.
Key Responsibilities
1. Remote & Field Technical Guidance:
- Provide real-time remote technical assistance (via phone, video, or remote diagnostics) to field technicians troubleshooting complex lift control boards, VFD drives, touch COP systems, and smart IoT modules.
- Attend site visits alongside field teams for unresolved or recurring breakdown calls requiring advanced diagnostic tools.
2. Factory & OEM Liaison:
- Communicate directly with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) R&D/engineering teams (e.g., factory partners in China/Singapore) to resolve software bugs, parameter issues, or component failures.
- Translate technical service bulletins, parameter manuals, and wiring updates into clear instructions for local field teams.
3. Testing, Parameterization & Commissioning Support:
- Assist project and commissioning teams in configuring lift parameters, IoT door locks, emergency call modules, and touchscreen Car Operating Panels (COP) during new installations.
- Conduct failure analysis on defective control boards or mechanical drives to determine root causes.
4. Documentation & Knowledge Base Management:
- Build and maintain an internal troubleshooting database, technical FAQs, and step-by-step guides for technicians.
- Prepare detailed technical investigation reports for major system failures or client inquiries.
5. Technical Training:
- Conduct technical refresher workshops and onboarding training for Junior & Senior Technicians on new product lines (e.g., drum-drive systems, traction home lifts, automated emergency rescue functions).
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: SPM, Certificate, SKM (Level 2/3), Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechatronic, Electronic Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Experience:
- 2–5+ years of experience in technical support, commissioning, or high-level troubleshooting within the lift/escalator, automation, or industrial machinery industries.
- Practical experience with elevator micro-processor controllers (e.g., Monarch, STEP, or proprietary smart controllers) and VFD drives is highly advantageous.
Technical Mastery:
- Strong ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics, PCB layout diagrams, and error codes.
- Solid understanding of IoT integration, touch panel programming, and digital signal wiring.
Languages: Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Fluency in Mandarin is strongly preferred (to liaise effectively with overseas manufacturing/factory R&D engineering teams).
Attributes: Excellent analytical thinking, patience when guiding technicians, strong communication skills, and willingness to occasionally go on-site for emergency escalations.
Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
