Position Overview:
This role is responsible for ensuring the safety of all guests using our swimming pools and aquatic facilities. Candidates must be proficient swimmers and demonstrate strong awareness and quick response skills.

Due to visa limitations, only locals will be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

Guest Safety & Surveillance

• Maintain constant surveillance of pools and aquatic areas to ensure guest safety.
• Enforce pool rules and regulations courteously and professionally.
• Respond immediately to any signs of distress and perform water rescues or first aid as required.
• Administer CPR and emergency care until professional assistance arrives.
• Monitor weather conditions and pool environments to identify potential hazards.
• Maintain clear communication with the Health Club Supervisor and team regarding incidents or risks.

Facility & Equipment Maintenance

• Conduct regular inspections of pool facilities, safety equipment, and water quality apparatus.
• Ensure rescue and first aid equipment is in good working order and readily accessible.
• Assist with maintaining cleanliness, readiness, and professional presentation of pool and surrounding areas.
• Report any maintenance or safety issues promptly to supervisors.

Recreation & Guest Engagement

• Support hotel-led recreational programs, wellness activities, and poolside events.
• Interact with guests in a friendly and proactive manner, promoting participation in Health Club or resort activities.
• Assist in the setup and coordination of events or games when assigned by the Supervisor or Manager.
• Contribute to a welcoming, engaging, and family-friendly pool atmosphere.

Training & Compliance

• Participate in ongoing training, safety drills, and departmental briefings.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of lifeguarding techniques, rescue protocols, and emergency response.
• Comply with all statutory safety requirements under the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994.
• Uphold Sunway’s safety standards, grooming guidelines, and service culture at all times.

Qualifications

• Bronze Medallion certification or equivalent lifeguard qualification.
• Candidates without certification must be strong swimmers and able to qualify for Bronze Medallion training.
• CPR and First Aid certification.

Experience

• Previous experience in hospitality, recreation, or aquatic safety.

Skills

• Must be a proficient swimmer with excellent water safety awareness.
• Physically fit and capable of quick, decisive response in emergencies.
• Strong observation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Professional, reliable, and safety-focused with a guest-oriented mindset.
• Team player with a positive attitude toward learning and cross-functional support.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM2,100.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
