Key Responsibilities:

Kitchen Operations

I. Support Demi Chef in overseeing daily kitchen activities.

II. Ensure all dishes are prepared according to standard recipes, presentation and quality guidelines.

III. Assist in coordinating food production to ensure timely service.

IV. Maintain proper workstation setup (mise-en-place) before and during operations.

V. Ensure cleanliness, hygiene and safety standards are consistently met.

VI. Check inventory for next day preparation needs.

VII. Report any equipment issues and stock shortages.

Food Preparation & Cooking

I. Prepare, cook and present dishes according to hotel standards.

II. Assist in developing new menu items and improving existing recipes.

III. Monitor portion control and minimize food wastage.

IV. Conduct regular tasting checks to ensure flavor consistency.

Staff Support & Supervision

I. Guide, train and supervise junior staff (Commis)

II. Delegate tasks during service and ensure teamwork in the kitchen.

III. Provide support during peak hours to maintain smooth service flow.

IV. Act as the person-in-charge in the absence of the Demi Chef.

Inventory & Cost Control

I. Assist in monitoring stock levels and ensuring proper storage.

II. Support in checking daily deliveries for quality and quantity.

III. Help manage inventory rotation to reduce wastage.

IV. Report shortages, equipment issues, or maintenance needs promptly.

Compliance & Documentation

I. Ensure adherence to food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards.

II. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation checklists.

III. Follow hotel SOPs for food preparation, storage and safety.

Communication & Reporting

I. Immediately report problems to Hotel Manager.

II. Update daily production sheet and cleaning checklist.

III. Participate in departmental training and skill development.

IV. Ensure teamwork and coordination with all sections.

Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
