Key Responsibilities


  1. Lead and oversee the full month-end and year-end closing process, including the preparation and posting of journal entries, inter-company transactions and cross charges, ensuring accurate, complete, and timely financial reporting in accordance with applicable accounting standards and Company policies.
  2. Prepare, review, and ensure timely reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies within established timelines.
  3. Manage the period-end closing activities for all assigned entities, ensuring compliance with the corporate closing timetable, reporting requirements, and standardized closing checklist.
  4. Prepare, review, and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management reports, cash flow statements, variance analyses, and consolidated financial reports to support management decision-making.
  5. Prepare and review tax computations, withholding tax computations, SST (where applicable), and other statutory tax submissions, ensuring timely and accurate payment and compliance with relevant tax regulations.
  6. Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning process by working closely with departmental heads to develop realistic budgets, financial projections, and business performance targets.
  7. Monitor budget performance against actual results, perform financial and operational variance analysis, identify trends and business risks, and provide recommendations for cost optimisation and profitability improvement.
  8. Develop, implement, and continuously enhance internal controls, accounting procedures, and financial governance to safeguard company assets, minimise financial risks, and ensure compliance with internal policies and statutory requirements.
  9. Support digital transformation and continuous process improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to streamline accounting processes, improve reporting efficiency, and optimise the utilisation of SAP, ERP systems, and other financial applications.
  10. Ensure accurate maintenance of the General Ledger and financial records, including reviewing accounting transactions for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS).
  11. Liaise and coordinate with external stakeholders, including auditors, tax agents, company secretaries, bankers, government authorities, and regulatory bodies to ensure timely completion of audits, statutory filings, tax matters, and regulatory compliance.
  12. Support the Financial Controller/CFO in financial reporting, management presentations, audit preparation, financial analysis, and other strategic finance initiatives.
  13. Provide guidance, coaching, and technical support to junior finance team members, promoting best accounting practices, compliance, and continuous professional development.
  14. Ensure effective utilisation of SAP and ERP systems by maintaining data integrity, supporting system enhancements, participating in ERP implementation or improvement projects, and assisting users in resolving finance-related system issues.
  15. Stay updated with changes in accounting standards, tax legislation, and regulatory requirements, ensuring the Company's financial practices remain compliant with applicable laws and professional standards.
  16. Carry out any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Superior or Management from time to time.
