Responsibilities

Role Summary:

We’re looking for a Finance Executive to support our internal finance operations in Malaysia.

Key Responsibilities:


Accounts Payable

  • Accurate and timely recording and payment of staff claims, vendor invoices and credit card spends in line with Spencer Ogden's policies and procedures.
  • Vouching of routine invoices against budget before payment. To escalate any overspends promptly to Team lead.
  • Payments processed are aligned to the authorisation matrix.
  • Maintain confidentiality on payments or claims that are sensitive in nature.
  • Maintenance of AP ledger and bi-weekly checks on outstanding AP ledger items to provide an update on their status.


General Ledger

  • Support month-end close activities to deadline, preparing monthly management accounts including accruals, prepayments, and journal postings.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
  • Assist with audit queries and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures
  • Perform other finance-related duties as assigned by the team lead


Accounts Receivable

  • Downloading transactions from bank portals, posting and allocating payments in the accounting system.
  • Reconciling cash posted against bank statements on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Liaise with internal departments on payment-related matters.


Requirements:

  • Diploma / bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Minimum 2-4 years relevant working experience in AP/GL, preferably in a services or recruitment environment.
  • Computer literate, preferably with Excel spreadsheet knowledge
  • Possesses good technical knowledge of accounting and analytical skills
  • Possesses initiative to resolve challenges faced with a positive attitude
  • Good written and communication skills (English)
  • Able to work under the pressure of tight deadlines
  • Able to work independently and adaptable to change
