Job Description

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:


Financial Accounting & Reporting:

  • Manage and be hands-on in the daily finance and accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, fixed assets, inventory control and cash flow management.
  • Perform month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, schedules and supporting documentation and functions.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure timely submission of management reports to the management.
  • Support implementation of process improvements and automation initiatives.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls, policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate external audits, internal audits, and regulatory reviews.
  • Prepare audit schedules and respond to auditors' queries.
  • Coordinate direct and indirect tax matters including corporate tax, withholding tax, service tax and tax filings.
  • Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, regulators and other external stakeholders.
  • Monitor changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements and assess their impact on the organisation.


Sustainability Reporting & ESG:

  • Coordinate the collection, validation and consolidation of sustainability and ESG related data from various departments and service providers.
  • Prepare sustainability disclosures for annual reports, sustainability reports and regulatory submissions.
  • Assist in reporting in accordance with Bursa Malaysia Sustainability Reporting requirements and relevant ESG frameworks.
  • Support sustainability governance initiatives and ESG-related projects across the organisation.
  • Track sustainability targets and monitor progress against approved ESG objectives.
  • Assist in preparing presentations, reports and updates for management.
  • Liaise with external consultants, assurance providers and sustainability auditors on sustainability reporting matters.

Requirement:

  • Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA, ICAEW or equivalent is preferred.
  • Hands-on and willing to be involved in detailed accounting and reporting work.
  • Detail-oriented with high accuracy and strong analytical skills.
  • Sustainability or ESG-related certification would be an added advantage.
  • Experience in sustainability reporting or ESG reporting is an added advantage.
