Job Summary

Powen Engineering Pte Ltd seeks an experienced Assistant Project Manager (Electrical) to lead complex electrical projects in the Central Region, ensuring timely, budget-compliant, and high-quality delivery with strong safety adherence.

Responsibilities

  • Design, install, and test HT switchgear to meet project specifications and safety standards
  • Independently coordinate project activities to ensure smooth execution and stakeholder alignment
  • Lead the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and completion of mechanical engineering projects
  • Develop detailed project scopes, objectives, schedules, and resource plans ensuring technical feasibility
  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, subcontractors, authorities, and stakeholders to resolve issues
  • Attend site meetings and promptly address technical, operational, and site-related challenges
  • Supervise and monitor mechanical installation works to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and project requirements
  • Review engineering drawings, method statements, technical submissions, and project documentation for accuracy and compliance
  • Track project progress, prepare status reports, and ensure milestones are met on schedule
  • Manage project costs, variations, and procurement activities related to mechanical works to maintain budget control
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, workplace safety requirements, and company policies throughout project lifecycle
  • Support testing, commissioning, handover, and project close-out activities to ensure successful project delivery

Required competencies and certifications

  • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in new building construction, data center, or electrical project management
  • CSCPM Certificate

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Familiarity with local codes, regulations, and industry standards
  • Good understanding of testing and commissioning processes
  • Strong project management, coordination, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
