Job Purpose / Summary
The Social Worker Associate is stationed on-site at an assigned school, providing sustained and embedded social work support within the school's student ecosystem. The Associate plans, executes and evaluates programmes and services effectively, and manages programme expenses to ensure efficient use of resources, while maintaining a consistent, dedicated presence that builds trust with students and school personnel over the course of the placement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Engagement of Children and Youth
- Mentor children and youth to meet their needs and achieve programme outcomes within their ecosystem, through sustained on-site engagement at the assigned school
- Facilitate restorative interventions to address issues and situations faced by children and youth
- Facilitate circles to bring stakeholders together around shared concerns to strengthen relationships and build a community of care
- Facilitate proactive circles for children and youth to connect and build relationships
2. Liaison & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including school administrators, school counsellors, educators, and community partners to facilitate effective service delivery
- Serve as a consistent, on-site point of contact for the school, working closely with the Student Development Team and other school personnel to ensure continuity of care
3. Administrative Duties
- Write case notes for intake and mentoring sessions
- Prepare programme proposals
- Write programme evaluation reports and impact reports
- Make billings for programmes and services
Essential Skills
- Proficient in spoken and written English for client engagement, report writing, and coordination with stakeholders
- Strong facilitation and engagement skills, with the ability to effectively interact with and support diverse stakeholder groups, including children, youths, educators, and parents
- Able to work collaboratively in a team environment, while also demonstrating initiative and the ability to work independently when required
