Job Description

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BQ), and tender documentation for construction projects.
- Conduct detailed cost analysis and budget management throughout all project phases, from pre-contract to post-completion.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and favourable terms.
- Prepare interim valuations, progress claims, and payment certificates in accordance with contract requirements.
- Carry out site measurements and inspections to verify completed work and assess variations to the contract scope.
- Liaise with Project Managers, Architects, Engineers, and Clients to provide commercial and financial advice on project matters.
- Advise on contractual implications, cost variations, claims, and dispute resolution.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and value engineering without compromising quality or project objectives.
- Perform any other duties or instructions assigned by the superior from time to time.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline from a recognised university.
- Preferably 1–3 years of post-qualification experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Proven knowledge in cost estimation, tender documentation, procurement, and contract administration.
- Proficient in QS software and Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with high attention to detail.
- Good commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams.
- Knowledge of Malaysian construction practices, building regulations, and relevant legislation is an added advantage.
