Job Description

Responsibilities

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Finance Executive to join our hospitality finance team. The Finance Executive plays a critical role in managing the daily financial operations of the hotel, ensuring robust accounting practices, rigorous internal auditing, and accurate budgeting. In this role, you will work closely with hotel department heads to maintain financial discipline, safeguard assets, and support profitability while ensuring compliance with statutory standards and internal SOPs.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Daily Financial Operations

  • Oversee daily accounting transactions, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and General Ledger (GL) maintenance.
  • Reconcile daily hotel revenues, cash collections, and credit card transactions integrated from Front Office Property Management Systems (PMS).
  • Perform accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all journal entries and accruals are properly recorded.
  • Manage daily bank reconciliations, monitor cash flow, and process vendor payments and employee reimbursements in accordance with credit terms.
  • Conduct regular balance sheet schedules and account reconciliations to ensure ledger accuracy.

2. Internal Auditing & Compliance

  • Regularly review Night Audit reports and daily revenue packs to verify that room revenues are accurately recorded and authorized.
  • Conduct surprise internal audits on general cashier floats, outlet cash registers, and petty cash funds.
  • Coordinate periodic physical inventory counts of fixed assets, Operating Equipment (OS&E), and furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E).
  • Ensure strict adherence to local tax regulations (e.g., Sales & Service Tax / VAT), statutory reporting requirements, and corporate governance standards.

3. Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Analysis

  • Assist in preparing the annual hotel operating budget, capital expenditure (CapEx) budget, and rolling monthly/quarterly financial forecasts.
  • Analyze monthly financial performance against approved budgets and historical data; identify key variances and provide actionable insights to management.
  • Track and report on crucial industry metrics such as GOPPAR (Gross Operating Profit Per Available Room), RevPAR (Revenue Per Available Room), and payroll cost percentages.
  • Prepare detailed financial management reports for management decision-making.

4. Hotel Operations Support

  • Partner with department heads to guide budget adherence and provide financial guidance on operational projects.
  • Review and validate purchase requisitions and purchase orders against approved departmental budgets prior to final authorization.

Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM5,500.00 per month
