Technician Machinist

Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Technician Machinist to join our Tooling Engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for machining, fabricating, repairing, and maintaining tooling, mould components, jigs, fixtures, and production equipment to support manufacturing operations. This role requires strong machining skills, the ability to interpret engineering drawings, and a commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
1- Perform machining, fabrication, repair, and modification of tooling, mould components, jigs, fixtures, and production equipment.
2- Manufacture precision spare parts such as pins, core pins, slide rails, inserts, and other mould components.
3- Operate conventional machining equipment including lathe, milling, surface grinding, drilling, and welding machines.
4-Support troubleshooting and repair of moulds and tooling to minimise production downtime.
5- Read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensions, and tolerances to produce accurate components.
6- Ensure all machining work complies with engineering specifications, quality requirements, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
7- Support new mould inspection, assembly, testing, and commissioning activities.
8- Complete assigned work orders within the required timeline while maintaining workmanship quality.
9- Participate in cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.
10- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment by practising 5S and complying with all safety regulations.
11- Perform any other duties assigned by the immediate superior.
Job Requirements
1- Minimum SKM Level 3, Certificate, or Diploma in Machining Technology, Precision Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Tool & Die, or a related field.
2- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in machining or tool room operations (fresh graduates with relevant technical qualifications are encouraged to apply).
3- Experience in the manufacturing or die casting industry is an added advantage.
4- Knowledge of conventional machining processes; CNC machining experience is an advantage.
5- Able to operate lathe, milling, grinding, drilling, and basic welding equipment.
6- Able to read and interpret 2D engineering drawings and machining tolerances.
7- Familiar with precision measuring instruments such as Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, and Height Gauge.
8- Good troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
9- Able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
10- Willing to work overtime when required.
Pay: RM1,800.00 - RM2,000.00 per month
