Job Description

Responsibilities

Job Summary

Develop innovative interior design concepts and lead project delivery from design through construction, coordinating with stakeholders to ensure quality and client satisfaction. Mentor junior designers and manage project timelines and resources effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and present innovative design concepts, mood boards, color palettes, and space plans aligned with client goals, brand identity, and budget constraints
  • Produce and oversee detailed technical drawings, elevations, sections, and schedules using CAD software (AutoCAD, SketchUp) to ensure design accuracy
  • Lead FF&E selection and specification, including furniture, lighting, art, accessories, materials, and finishes, ensuring quality, durability, and alignment with design intent
  • Coordinate with contractors, architects, vendors, and internal teams to resolve design-related issues and ensure seamless project delivery
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction progress, quality control, and design compliance; proactively identify and address discrepancies
  • Lead client presentations and design reviews, articulating design rationale to influence decision-making and secure approvals
  • Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables; track milestones and communicate risks early to stakeholders
  • Mentor junior designers by reviewing their work and guiding their technical and creative development

Required competencies and certifications

  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Deep knowledge of space planning, materials, furnishings, lighting, and building codes
  • Strong project management skills including managing timelines, budgets, and stakeholder coordination

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field
  • 5+ years of experience as an Interior Designer with a strong portfolio showing built projects
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills
