Job Title: Oracle Database Administrator (Oracle DBA)

Client: MNC Company

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Employment Type: 12-Month Renewable Contract

Experience: 3–5 Years

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) with 3–5 years of hands-on experience in Oracle database administration and SQL. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining Oracle databases, ensuring high availability, performance optimization, backup and recovery, and providing production support in an enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer, monitor, and maintain Oracle Database environments.
  • Perform database installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching.
  • Monitor database performance and identify bottlenecks.
  • Perform SQL tuning and database performance optimization.
  • Execute backup, recovery, and disaster recovery activities using RMAN.
  • Manage database users, roles, privileges, and security.
  • Support Oracle Data Guard and high-availability environments.
  • Troubleshoot database issues and resolve production incidents.
  • Perform database cloning, migration, and refresh activities.
  • Monitor database storage, tablespaces, and capacity utilization.
  • Work closely with application, infrastructure, and development teams during deployments and releases.
  • Prepare technical documentation and operational procedures.

Required Skills

  • 3–5 years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Database 11g/12c/19c.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and basic PL/SQL.
  • Experience with RMAN Backup & Recovery.
  • Knowledge of Oracle Data Guard.
  • Experience in SQL Performance Tuning and database optimization.
  • Experience with database patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
  • Good understanding of Linux/Unix operating systems.
  • Experience supporting production database environments.
  • Good analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Oracle RAC knowledge.
  • Oracle ASM.
  • Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
  • Shell scripting (Bash) or Python.
  • Exposure to Cloud (OCI, AWS, or Azure).
  • ITIL knowledge or certification.

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Oracle OCA/OCP certification is an added advantage.
