About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Service Engineer to join Morglory International Sdn Bhd in Penang. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining and supporting our mechanical engineering operations. As a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring optimal performance of our equipment and systems, providing technical expertise to clients, and contributing to the continued success of our service delivery. This role is essential to maintaining our reputation for excellence and customer satisfaction within the mechanical engineering sector.

Key responsibilities

1. Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and diagnostics on mechanical systems and equipment to ensure optimal functionality

2. Identify and troubleshoot technical issues, providing prompt and effective solutions to minimise downtime

3. Conduct preventative maintenance programmes according to established schedules and industry standards

4. Repair and replace mechanical components, parts, and assemblies as needed

5. Provide technical support and guidance to clients and internal teams regarding equipment operation and maintenance

6. Prepare detailed service reports and documentation for all maintenance and repair activities

7. Collaborate with other engineers and departments to resolve complex technical challenges

8. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, health standards, and company policies during all service activities

9. Assist in training junior technicians and staff on proper equipment handling and maintenance procedures

10. Maintain accurate records of service history, spare parts usage, and equipment performance metrics

What we're looking for

1. Diploma or degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline

2. Proven experience working as a Service Engineer or in a similar technical maintenance role within the mechanical engineering industry

3. Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and equipment troubleshooting

4. Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals

5. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical issues

6. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively whilst meeting service schedules

7. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, colleagues, and management

8. Commitment to safety and compliance with all relevant regulations and standards

9. Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites as required

10. Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and mechanical tools

11. Preferred: Previous experience in a customer-facing service role and knowledge of industry-specific equipment

12. Fluent in Mandarin and English (spoken and written)
