Responsibilities
Job Description :
Take overall responsibility for project planning, execution, coordination, and completion from mobilisation to handover.
Ensure the project is completed on time, within budget, safely, and according to required quality standards
Develop, monitor, and control the Master Programme, look-ahead programme, and recovery plans.
Manage daily site operations and ensure all construction works follow approved drawings, specifications, and proper construction sequence.
Lead and manage the site team, subcontractors, suppliers, and all construction resources.
Monitor subcontractor progress, manpower, productivity, materials, and machinery to meet project targets.
Coordinate with Client, Consultants, Authorities, subcontractors, and suppliers to resolve issues and prevent delays.
Review and coordinate Architectural, Structural, M&E, Infrastructure, and other construction drawings to identify clashes or missing information before work starts.
Monitor all critical authority submissions, approvals, inspections, and CCC requirements affecting the project.
Plan and monitor procurement and long-lead materials to ensure timely delivery according to the construction programme.
Work closely with QS to control project cost, variations, claims, wastage, and subcontractor performance.
Ensure all works comply with required quality, QA/QC, safety, health, and environmental standards.
Identify project risks, delays, and critical issues early and implement immediate corrective or recovery actions.
Conduct and attend progress, technical, subcontractor, consultant, and internal coordination meetings and ensure all action items are closed promptly.
Provide Management with accurate progress reports, critical issues, risks, and completion forecasts.
Manage testing & commissioning, defect rectification, authority inspections, CCC coordination, and final project handover.
Take full ownership and accountability for the project's progress, coordination, construction delivery, and successful completion.
Job Requirements :
Minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
8–10 years of relevant experience as a Construction Manager/Project Manager in the construction industry.
Hands-on experience in at least two core functions, such as technical coordination, quantity surveying, planning, or site operations.
Experience in delivering at least one complete construction project from commencement to completion is preferred.
Good understanding of construction methodologies, drawings, specifications, and contract administration.
Strong leadership, coordination, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
Good analytical skills with the ability to identify project risks and implement timely corrective actions.
Knowledge of cost control, project scheduling, quality management, and Malaysian engineering and safety regulations.
Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, or other project management software is an advantage.
