Technical Sales Assistant Manager

Our client is a leading manufacturer and distributor of Factory Automation, Mechanical Components, Press Die & Plastic Mold Components, Electrical & Wiring Parts, Tools and MRO products. We support manufacturers with millions of configurable and standard products across Singapore, the Philippines, Australia, New Zealand and the Middle East.

Job Role :

Drive business growth by developing strategic customer relationships, expanding new business opportunities and leading complex technical sales engagements. Besides achieving personal sales targets, the Assistant Manager is expected to develop territory strategies, manage key accounts and contribute to business planning.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Business Development & Sales Growth

• Actively prospect and develop new business opportunities within assigned industries and territories.
• Conduct customer visits to identify manufacturing challenges and business opportunities.
• Achieve assigned sales, gross profit and new customer acquisition targets.
• Prepare quotations, negotiate within authority and drive opportunities to successful order closure.
• Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and forecast in Salesforce CRM.
• Develop territory growth plans and identify high-potential market segments.
• Lead strategic commercial negotiations for major opportunities.

2. Customer Relationship Management

• Build trusted relationships with engineers, buyers and key stakeholders.
• Grow existing accounts through cross-selling and upselling opportunities.
• Provide timely follow-up on enquiries, quotations and after-sales matters.
• Manage strategic and key customer accounts.
• Develop long-term account growth strategies.

3. Technical Solution Consulting

• Understand customer applications and recommend suitable company products and solutions.
• Conduct technical presentations and product demonstrations.
• Work with Product Management and Operations to resolve technical and commercial issues.
• Support complex solution proposals and coach junior team members on technical selling.

4. Market Intelligence & Internal Collaboration

• Monitor competitor activities and industry trends.
• Share customer insights to support business growth.
• Collaborate closely with Customer Service, Operations and Product teams.
• Recommend business improvement initiatives based on market analysis.

Job Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 6–8 years of B2B technical sales experience in industrial manufacturing, automation, machinery or engineering components.
• Strong business development and relationship management skills.
• Willing to travel within ASEAN when required.
• Thinks strategically while remaining commercially driven.
• Enjoys opening new markets and developing key accounts.
• Influences stakeholders at different organisational levels.
• Balances technical recommendations with commercial outcomes.
• Coaches and develops junior colleagues.
• Makes sound business decisions independently.
