The post holder is responsible for procuring the goods and services required by the Company. The role identifies the material and service requirements of the operations rigs and support teams, sources and evaluates vendors and service providers that meet operational requirements, monitors the delivery status of all Purchase Orders (POs), and coordinates with vendors and the Logistics team to ensure timely delivery and efficient logistics arrangements.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Perform procurement activities in accordance with the Company's Policies, Directives, Procedures, and Code of Business Conduct & Ethics.
- Maintain effective communication with the Rigs and/or Project PMT to support supply chain planning and daily operational requirements.
- Ensure the best Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) when procuring goods and services, considering cost, quality, delivery, safety requirements, and technical specifications.
- Conduct sourcing activities to identify opportunities for new suppliers and establish supply agreements.
- Review and process all requisitions for equipment, materials, and services, including repair and rental requirements.
- Continuously monitor all open Purchase Orders (POs) and expedite overdue and outstanding orders to ensure timely delivery.
- Initiate and negotiate new regional and local supply agreements, while continuously reviewing the competitiveness of local versus overseas purchases in line with TCO objectives.
- Work closely with Operations Support, Finance, Invoice Processing, Logistics, and Warehouses/Supply Bases to provide effective supply chain support to the Rigs.
- Conduct weekly teleconference meetings with the Rigs to review open issues and resolve outstanding matters.
- Actively contribute to cost savings through strategic and proactive initiatives to identify opportunities for cost reduction and cost avoidance.
QUALIFICATIONS / CERTIFICATIONS / RELEVENT EXPERIENCE
- Degree in engineering, supply chain or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of practical procurement experience, preferably within the oil and gas industry, with exposure to drilling operations.
- Commercial and technical knowledge of drilling rig operations and related procurement activities.
- Proficient in using procurement systems and tools to support sourcing and purchasing activities.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, demonstrating initiative and sound decision-making.
- Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions to achieve common objectives.
- Solid procurement knowledge with hands-on experience in sourcing, purchasing, supplier evaluation, and contract management.
- Good understanding of Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) principles and best practices.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
