About The Role
The QA Assistant is responsible for ensuring product quality, compliance with established standards, and customer satisfaction through sample preparation, testing coordination, documentation control, and quality monitoring activities.
Location Butterworth, Penang
Reporting to QC Laboratory Officer
Key responsibilities
- Update and maintain daily product status records.
- Prepare finished product samples in a hygienic manner for external analysis.
- Organize and dispatch pre-shipment samples according to customer requirements.
- Monitor external testing results and coordinate Certificate of Analysis (COA) issuance.
- Verify product specifications daily against the latest system updates.
- Conduct required sensory evaluations of finished products and compile test results.
- Ensure contaminant testing is completed according to the established schedule.
- Perform shelf-life testing as required.
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with current procedures.
- Support the coordination and execution of the company's self-audit program.
- Assist with inventory and stock management activities.
Education & Experience
- Minimum STPM, A-Level, Pre-University, Professional Certificate, Diploma, or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in QA/QC or manufacturing environment. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Candidates with experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Food Manufacturing, or a related manufacturing environment will have an added advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and spoken.
- Familiarity with documentation control, record management, and document filing processes
- Experience in quality assurance, quality control, laboratory testing, or related functions is an advantage.
- Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, food safety, or quality management systems is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of SAP will be an added advantage.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong documentation, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proactive team player with a high level of integrity and commitment to quality standards.
