The Boilerman is responsible for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and monitoring of high-pressure boilers and steam-related utility systems. This role ensures a constant and reliable steam supply to meet production demands while strictly adhering to safety regulations and environmental standards. The position also involves overseeing general facility machinery, water treatment systems, and supporting annual regulatory inspections.

Key Responsibilities

• Boiler Operations & Safety: Monitor, operate, and maintain boilers daily to ensure they are running within safe operating limits and meeting production steam demands.
• Facility Patrols & Inspections: Conduct daily routine patrols of utilities and facilities, including raw water treatment plants and other machinery, recording all findings in log sheets/checklists.
• Water Chemistry Management: Prepare chemical dosing and conduct water analysis to control boiler water quality, preventing scale and corrosion.
• Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform regular cleaning, servicing, and minor repairs on boilers and steam accessories; troubleshoot and rectify operational faults promptly.
• Regulatory Compliance: Prepare documentation and coordinate with contractors for annual boiler inspections by relevant authorities (e.g., DOSH/JKKP) to ensure legal compliance.
• Preventive Maintenance (PPM): Execute planned preventive maintenance for all facility equipment and ensure all tools are kept in good working condition.
• SOP & Documentation: Generate and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs) specifically for medical device and pharmaceutical production standards.
• Emergency Response: Respond immediately to production steam upsets and provide technical support during equipment breakdowns or system failures.
• Reporting: Prepare periodic maintenance reports and provide regular updates to superiors regarding project progress and assigned tasks.

Requirements

• Education/Certification: Must possess a valid Boilerman Grade 1 or Grade 2 Certificate of Competency issued by the relevant authority (e.g., DOSH/JKKP).
• Experience: 3–5 years of experience operating industrial boilers, preferably within the pharmaceutical, medical device, or food manufacturing industry.
• Technical Skills: Sound knowledge of steam systems, water treatment processes, and mechanical/electrical troubleshooting.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with the Factories and Machinery Act and Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) regulations.
• Physical Fitness: Able to work in high-temperature environments and perform manual labor, including lifting and climbing.
• Commitment: Willing to work on shifts or be on standby for emergency repairs to ensure 24/7 utility availability.

Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
