Virtualization Engineer

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Job Summary

One of our key clients is seeking an experienced Virtualization Engineer to manage, support, and maintain enterprise virtualization infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, security, and lifecycle management of virtual environments while supporting infrastructure projects, technology refresh initiatives, and day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and maintain enterprise virtualization infrastructure.
• Monitor and ensure the availability, performance, and health of virtualization platforms.
• Manage VMware, Nutanix, and virtualization clusters in a production environment.
• Perform hardware and software upgrades, patching, and technology refresh activities.
• Support infrastructure expansion, migration, and virtualization projects.
• Provide Level 3 technical support and troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, network, storage, and security teams to ensure stable operations.
• Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and system inventories.
• Ensure infrastructure complies with security standards, best practices, and organizational policies.
• Participate in on-call support and planned maintenance activities when required.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience managing enterprise virtualization environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, Nutanix, and virtualization technologies.
• Experience with Windows Server, Cisco UCS, HP/Dell server hardware, and enterprise infrastructure.
• Knowledge of virtualization, storage, networking, and data center operations.
• Experience in infrastructure implementation, upgrades, and technology refresh projects.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
