We are looking for an exceptional Art Therapist who shares that philosophy and who would like to lead and shape one of the most exciting Creative Arts programmes in child, adolescent and young adult mental healthcare.

This is an opportunity to join one of the world’s leading specialist services for young people with complex mental health presentations. Working alongside psychiatrists, psychologists, family therapists, doctors, nurses, occupational therapists, therapeutic life coaches and dietitians, you will become an integral member of our multidisciplinary clinical team, helping families rediscover hope whilst developing innovative therapeutic experiences that genuinely change lives.

The successful candidate will lead our Creative Arts Department, bringing imagination, clinical excellence and curiosity to every aspect of the programme. We are looking for someone who believes that clay can sometimes say what conversation cannot, that a paintbrush can uncover stories hidden beneath perfectionism, and that creativity belongs at the heart of excellent mental healthcare.

Our creative programme stretches far beyond traditional art therapy. We are looking for someone excited by a truly multimedia approach that may include pottery, ceramics, sculpture, acrylic and watercolour painting, mixed media, textiles, batik, jewellery making, canvas work, collage, printmaking, creative journalling, seasonal projects and collaborative family art experiences. We are always interested in developing new therapeutic ideas, and we welcome clinicians who enjoy creating original groups and innovative treatment experiences.

Alongside leading the department, you will hold an active clinical caseload of up to thirty-two young people across each month. Your work will include individual art psychotherapy, therapeutic groups, family sessions and multidisciplinary treatment planning. You will contribute to clinical formulations, participate fully within our treatment meetings and work closely with the wider team to ensure every intervention supports each young person’s individual treatment goals.

This role extends beyond weekday working. Our young people deserve consistency throughout the week, and therefore we are looking for someone who is happy to work across a flexible rota including daytime, evenings and weekend therapeutic leadership. During weekends you will provide creative therapeutic direction, ensuring meaningful, clinically informed activities continue outside the traditional working week.

We would particularly welcome applications from clinicians with experience working with children, adolescents, young adults and family systems. Experience within eating disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma, neurodiversity, mood disorders, emerging personality difficulties or residential treatment would be highly valued, although we are ultimately looking for someone with warmth, creativity and outstanding therapeutic skills.

Applicants should be professionally qualified in Art Therapy or Art Psychotherapy and be eligible for professional registration within Malaysia or able to obtain the relevant registration. We are looking for a clinician who enjoys collaborative working, communicates beautifully with families, thinks creatively around complex clinical presentations and is excited to contribute to service development as we continue our international expansion.
