Job Summary
The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of the housekeeping department. This includes ensuring exceptional cleanliness, maintaining 4-star brand standards, managing budgets, leading the team, and delivering outstanding guest satisfaction across all rooms and public areas.
Job Descriptions and Responsibilities ·
- Lead and manage the entire housekeeping department, including supervisors, room attendants, and public area staff
- Develop and implement departmental goals aligned with hotel objectives
- Establish and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) in line with brand standards
- Oversee daily operations of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces
- Ensure all rooms meet 4-star quality standards before release for occupancy
- Conduct routine inspections and audits to maintain consistent cleanliness
- Recruit, train, and mentor housekeeping staff
- Prepare manpower planning, duty rosters, and productivity benchmarks
- Conduct performance evaluations and implement staff development programs
- Monitor guest feedback and implement improvements
- Handle VIP arrangements and special guest requests
- Resolve complaints efficiently and professionally
- Prepare and manage departmental budgets
- Monitor expenses related to linen, uniforms, cleaning supplies, and amenities
- Implement cost-control measures without compromising quality
- Ensure linen room operations and inventory control systems
- Ensure inventory done in timely manner and no discrepancies
- Ensure proper handling and maintenance of equipment and furnishings
- Coordinate with suppliers and procurement for timely replenishment
- Ensure compliance with hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations
- Implement sustainability and environmental practices (e.g., linen reuse programs)
- Train staff on safe chemical handling and equipment usage
- Work closely with Front Office, Engineering, and Sales department
- Coordinate room availability, maintenance issues, and renovation schedules
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management or related field
- 5–8+ years of housekeeping experience, with at least 2–3 years in a senior leadership role
- Experience in a 4-star or 5-star hotel environment preferred
- Strong leadership, planning, and organizational skills
- Detail oriented and organized.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency in housekeeping systems (e.g., PMS)
- Flexible to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays, based on operational needs
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: RM4,800.00 - RM5,500.00 per month
