Job Description

Responsibilities

We are looking for a driven and hands-on finance professional to join our Group Finance team. Working closely with the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining the integrity of the General Ledger, and supporting the successful operation of the hotel's finance function.

As the General Ledger Executive, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records, supporting month-end and year-end closing activities, preparing management reports, and ensuring compliance with statutory and company policies. Broadly, responsibilities as part of this role include:

  • Manage and maintain the General Ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and process journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, depreciation, provisions, and other month-end adjustments.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate outstanding or unusual items.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities to ensure timely preparation of financial statements and management reports.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and supporting schedules.
  • Review and reconcile intercompany transactions, bank reconciliations, and general ledger accounts.
  • Ensure accounting records are complete, accurate, and comply with company policies, accounting standards, and statutory requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, cash flow reports, and financial analysis.
  • Support SST compliance, tax-related matters, and statutory reporting requirements where applicable.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, bankers, and regulatory authorities during audits and statutory reporting.
  • Maintain proper documentation and filing of accounting records and supporting schedules.
  • Assist in identifying, investigating, and resolving accounting discrepancies and operational issues.
  • Continuously review and improve accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting efficiency.
  • Support finance-related projects and perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Candidate should possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy / ACCA or equivalent. Any other Accounting qualifications is acceptable as well.
  • Familiar with the Malaysian Accounting Standard and Income Tax Act.
  • Candidate with 1-2 years working experience in a property management industry will be a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight reporting deadlines.
