Consulting Engineer – Cisco Enterprise Networking, Security & Service Provider

Seven Openings | Malaysia | 12-Month Renewable Employment Term

We are hiring multiple Consulting Engineers to support regional customer projects for a leading global technology organisation.

The successful candidates will deliver consulting, design, implementation, migration, optimisation and troubleshooting services across Cisco enterprise networking, network security or service-provider environments.

These positions are based in Malaysia and offered on an initial 12-month renewable employment term. Candidates only need to specialise in one of the following technical tracks.

Available Technical Tracks

Enterprise Networking, Routing & SDA – Three Openings

We are seeking engineers with strong hands-on experience in Cisco enterprise network implementation and migration.

Relevant experience should include:

• Cisco ASR or ISR series routers

• Cisco Catalyst 4K, 6K or 9K switches

• Cisco Nexus 7K or 9K switches

• Routing protocols including BGP, OSPF and EIGRP

• Layer 2 technologies including VLAN, STP and EtherChannel

• HSRP, DHCP, DNS, SNMP, QoS, multicast and network resiliency

• Enterprise network implementation, migration and troubleshooting

• Software-Defined Access or Software-Defined Networking

Candidates with experience in the following areas will be prioritised:

• Cisco DNA Center or Catalyst Center

• Cisco Software-Defined Access

• Catalyst 9000 platforms

• LISP, VXLAN, CTS, dot1x, ISIS and VRF-Lite

• Cisco SD-WAN or Viptela

Network Security – Three Openings

We are seeking engineers with hands-on experience designing, implementing, migrating and troubleshooting enterprise network-security solutions.

Relevant experience should include one or more of the following:

• Cisco Identity Services Engine

• Cisco ASA, FTD or Firepower

• Cisco Secure Network Analytics or Stealthwatch

• Network Access Control and identity-based security

• Firewall design, deployment, migration and optimisation

• NAT, security zoning, VPN and perimeter security

• RADIUS, TACACS+, 802.1X, EAP-TLS and EAP-PEAP

• Profiling, policy management, guest access and BYOD

• Layer 1 to Layer 7 network and security troubleshooting

Experience with at least two Cisco security solutions will be advantageous.

Service Provider IP Networking – One Opening

We are seeking an experienced Service Provider Consulting Engineer with strong IP-core and carrier-networking experience.

Relevant experience should include:

• Cisco ASR9K or NCS platforms

• Cisco IOS-XR or IOS-XE

• BGP, OSPF and IS-IS

• MPLS, L2VPN and L3VPN

• Segment Routing

• IP RAN, mobile backhaul or core IP transport

• Service-provider core design and implementation

• Core-network migration and troubleshooting

Experience with Python, Ansible, data-centre networking, mobility or optical technologies will be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

• Work directly with customers, Cisco account teams, partners and regional technical teams.

• Plan, design, implement, migrate and optimise Cisco solutions.

• Take ownership of assigned technical workstreams and customer deliverables.

• Prepare design recommendations, High-Level Designs and Low-Level Designs.

• Develop Method of Procedure, implementation, migration, testing and change-management plans.

• Build or use test environments to validate designs and resolve compatibility issues.

• Troubleshoot complex customer problems and ensure timely technical resolution.

• Deliver customer documentation, technical presentations and knowledge-transfer sessions.

• Support technology transitions and align technical solutions with customer business objectives.

• Contribute technical input to presales and solution-design activities where required.

• Share implementation knowledge, lessons learned and delivery best practices with the wider team.

General Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, Telecommunications, Engineering or a related discipline.

• Approximately three to eight years of relevant experience, depending on the Consulting Engineer level.

• Strong hands-on implementation and troubleshooting experience beyond routine operational support.

• Previous customer-facing consulting, systems-integration or professional-services experience is preferred.

• Experience preparing HLD, LLD, MOP, test plans and implementation or migration documentation.

• Strong written and spoken English.

• Able to communicate effectively with technical teams, project managers and customer stakeholders.

• Able to work independently and collaborate with regional and cross-functional teams.

• Willing to support regional time zones and occasional weekend migration or change activities.

• Cisco certifications such as CCNA, CCNP or CCIE are strongly preferred.

• Python, Ansible, APIs or other network-automation experience will be advantageous.
