In this role, you will design, develop and enhance scalable, high-throughput applications on modern cloud-native platforms. Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain high-performance, business-critical applications.
- Build scalable, multithreaded solutions using Rust.
- Develop and integrate microservices and distributed systems.
- Optimise application performance, latency and memory utilisation.
- Collaborate closely with global engineering teams to deliver robust, scalable solutions.
- Take ownership of the full software development lifecycle, from design and implementation through to deployment and support.
- Contribute to architecture decisions and promote engineering best practices.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience in a professional environment.
- Strong commercial development experience with Rust.
- Solid understanding of concurrency, multithreading, asynchronous programming and software design principles.
- Experience building distributed systems, microservices, REST APIs or gRPC services.
- Hands-on experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS or SNS.
- Exposure to AWS and cloud-native architectures.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and automated testing frameworks.
- Exposure to modern front-end technologies such as React or Angular is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
