  • Perform advanced switch and router installation, activation, and deployment activities, including rack and stack, power-up, console access, image validation, baseline configuration, and feature enablement in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Execute Layer 2 and Layer 3 troubleshooting activities, including interface analysis, log reviews, VLAN validation, spanning tree verification, and routing adjacency checks.
  • Investigate and resolve complex network incidents during implementation and maintenance windows while maintaining service quality and operational standards.
  • Validate physical and logical network connectivity through optical transceiver verification, fiber inspections, link aggregation configuration, trunk validation, and end-to-end connectivity testing.
  • Lead equipment staging, burn-in testing, asset preparation, and deployment readiness activities prior to production implementation.
  • Support change management activities, coordinate maintenance windows, and ensure accurate documentation for all implementation work.
  • Provide guidance and technical support to junior technicians on installation standards, patching, labeling, port mapping, and operational procedures.
  • Maintain accurate network documentation, including rack elevations, serial number inventories, port mappings, and IP allocation records.
  • Ensure compliance with operational standards, ESD procedures, safety requirements, and established deployment methodologies.



Qualifications



  • Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals at CCNA level, including IP addressing, VLANs, trunking, Spanning Tree Protocol (STP), Link Aggregation, static routing, OSPF fundamentals, and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Experience in switch and router deployment, configuration, implementation, and operational support within enterprise or data center environments.
  • Hands-on knowledge of structured cabling and optical networking technologies, including SFP, SFP+, QSFP transceivers, fiber optics, and connector handling best practices.
  • Ability to review, follow, and enhance operational runbooks, implementation procedures, and Method of Procedure (MOP) documentation.
  • Strong understanding of change management processes, risk mitigation practices, and rollback planning.
  • Familiarity with console servers, terminal emulators, ticketing systems, and basic scripting or automation concepts.
  • Excellent documentation, asset management, and record-keeping skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced operational environments and during maintenance or implementation windows.
  • Professional certification such as CCNA or equivalent networking qualification will be advantageous.
