AI Engineer

Builds, integrates and ships the production AI solutions for one initiative squad.

Location: Hong Kong (on-site / hybrid)

Purpose

AI Engineers are the build engine of the squads. Each squad has two, working to the squad Product Owner and to the central architecture and governance standards. This is a hands-on delivery role: building, integrating and shipping working AI solutions against the squad's prioritised backlog. Specific deliverables and milestones will be agreed with the squad Product Owner on joining.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, integrate and deploy AI/ML solutions against the squad backlog and the central reference architecture.
• Work hands-on across the solution lifecycle — data preparation, model / pipeline build, integration, testing and deployment.
• Apply the central governance and architecture standards in delivery rather than treating them as separate overhead.
• Collaborate closely with the squad Product Owner to validate that what is built solves the framed business problem.
• Contribute to design and code review within the squad, raising quality without slowing delivery.
• Surface technical risk and delivery blockers early to the Product Owner and AI Architect.

Essential Experience

• 3+ years building production GenAI, Agentic RAG, AI or ML systems(not solely research or notebooks).
• Strong programming skills(Python typically) and solid data engineering fundamentals.
• MUST HAVE Hands-on production experience taking at least one AI/ML or GenAI solution from build to a deployed / used state.
• GenAI / LLM application experience ( RAG, orchestration, evaluation).
• Cloud ML tooling experience (AWS, Azure or GCP).
• Comfortable working within architecture and governance standards rather than around them.
• Collaborative delivery style suited to a small squad working at pace.
• Financial services, insurance or other regulated-domain exposure.
