Dapo Rakyat Johor is looking for a hands-on, responsible and highly organised Project Manager to plan, execute and monitor community-based projects.

This role requires someone who is comfortable working directly with communities, coordinating multiple stakeholders and ensuring that every project is completed according to its timeline, budget and expected outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute community, entrepreneurship and social-impact projects from start to completion
  • Develop project work plans, timelines, budgets, activity schedules and implementation strategies
  • Conduct community consultations, needs assessments and engagement sessions
  • Coordinate directly with communities, entrepreneurs, participants and local representatives
  • Liaise with government agencies, universities, corporate partners, funders, vendors and other stakeholders
  • Organise and execute workshops, training programmes, meetings, site visits and project activities
  • Monitor daily project progress, participant performance, deliverables, budgets and deadlines
  • Conduct regular follow-ups with team members, participants, trainers, vendors and stakeholders
  • Identify project delays, operational issues and risks, and take immediate corrective action
  • Ensure activities are implemented according to the approved project plan and requirements
  • Monitor project KPIs, participant attendance, programme outcomes and financial utilisation
  • Prepare project trackers, monitoring reports, progress updates and final reports
  • Maintain complete records, supporting documents, photographs, attendance lists, invoices and project evidence
  • Prepare presentations, meeting minutes, stakeholder updates and programme documentation
  • Manage on-site operations and ensure programmes run smoothly
  • Travel to project locations across Johor when required
  • Ensure projects are completed professionally, within budget and according to deadline

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Community Development, Social Science, Entrepreneurship or a related field
  • Able to independently plan, execute and monitor projects with minimal supervision
  • Able to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities or tight deadlines
  • Strong project coordination, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Confident in engaging with communities and stakeholders from different backgrounds
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Google Workspace
  • Able to prepare budgets, project trackers, timelines, databases and monitoring reports
  • Must possess own transport and be willing to travel around Johor
  • Responsible, proactive, resourceful and able to follow through until tasks are completed
  • Flexible to attend occasional weekend or evening programmes when required

Added Advantage

  • Previous experience managing or executing community-based projects
  • Experience working with entrepreneurs, B40 communities or programme participants
  • Experience working with government agencies, universities, NGOs, funders or corporate organisations
  • Experience in project monitoring, grant reporting and stakeholder management
  • Familiarity with community consultation, data collection and programme evaluation
  • Basic knowledge of Canva, social media documentation or event coordination
