Responsibilities

Job description:

  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final quality inspections of components, materials, parts, and optical modules according to approved inspection criteria, drawings, specifications, control plans, and work instructions.
  • Verify that products and manufacturing processes comply with company quality standards, customer requirements, approved procedures, and basic functional specifications.
  • Monitor production processes and conduct routine line audits, process audits, product audits, and quality compliance checks.
  • Identify, record, segregate, and report defective or non-conforming materials and products to prevent unintended use or delivery.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate inspection reports, quality records, checklists, audit findings, and other quality-related documentation.
  • Issue or assist in preparing Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and follow up on the status of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support QA Engineers in defect investigation, root cause analysis, containment activities, corrective actions, preventive actions, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Verify the implementation and effectiveness of corrective actions taken by Production, Engineering, suppliers, or other relevant departments.
  • Monitor compliance with company SOPs, quality procedures, ISO standards, customer requirements, ESD controls, safety requirements, and controlled manufacturing practices.
  • Operate and handle inspection tools, measuring instruments, and testing equipment correctly, including performing basic equipment checks and maintenance.
  • Ensure inspection and measuring equipment is within its valid calibration period before use.
  • Assist in internal quality audits, external audits, customer audits, supplier quality activities, and quality system improvement programs.
  • Work closely with Production, Engineering, Warehouse, and QA/QC teams to communicate, investigate, follow up, and resolve quality issues.
  • Compile inspection results, defect data, rejection trends, and quality performance information for analysis and reporting.
  • Assist in reviewing quality documents, inspection standards, work instructions, and quality records to ensure accuracy and proper implementation.
  • Participate in on-the-job training and quality-related training programs to improve inspection knowledge, technical competency, and problem-solving skills.
  • Maintain proper housekeeping, 5S, safety, ESD, and document-control practices within the inspection and production areas.
  • Perform other quality assurance and inspection duties assigned by the immediate superior.

Job Requirements:

  • Diploma or Certificate in Quality Management, Engineering, Mechatronics, Electronics, Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
  • At least 1–2 years of working experience in quality assurance, quality inspection, quality control, or a manufacturing environment. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Basic knowledge of quality assurance principles, inspection methods, manufacturing processes, and quality documentation.
  • Experience in optical modules, electronic components, semiconductor products, cleanroom operations, or controlled manufacturing environments will be an added advantage.
  • Familiar with inspection tools, measuring instruments, testing equipment, drawings, specifications, inspection checklists, and quality records.
  • Basic understanding of Non-Conformance Reports, corrective and preventive actions, root cause analysis, and defect-control processes.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ESD control, 5S, internal auditing, or other quality management systems will be an added advantage.
  • Good attention to detail with the ability to identify defects, process abnormalities, and non-compliance accurately.
  • Able to maintain accurate, complete, and traceable inspection and quality records.
  • Willing to work on the production floor and perform hands-on inspection, auditing, and quality verification activities.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with Production, Engineering, Warehouse, and QA/QC departments.
  • Able to follow SOPs, work instructions, quality procedures, and customer requirements consistently.
  • Willing to learn quality tools, audit techniques, inspection procedures, problem-solving methods, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and quality data-entry systems.
  • Able to work independently, manage assigned inspection activities, and escalate quality issues promptly.
  • Willing to work shifts or overtime when required by production operations.
