Role Description The Safety Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Singapore, supporting workplace safety and health across construction and engineering projects. This role involves conducting regular site inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with WSH regulations and company policies. The Safety Coordinator will plan and deliver safety training and toolbox meetings, maintain safety documentation and incident records, and assist with accident reporting and investigations. The role includes collaborating with project managers, supervisors, and workers to implement corrective and preventive measures, monitor the effectiveness of safety programs, and promote a strong safety culture. The Safety Coordinator will also support environmental health and safety initiatives and participate in continuous improvement of safety processes and procedures.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Health & Safety, Environment Health and Safety (EHS), and Occupational Health, with the ability to apply relevant regulations and best practices on construction sites.
- Experience in Safety Training, including conducting toolbox meetings, safety briefings, and awareness programs for diverse site teams.
- Practical skills in Accident Investigation, incident reporting, and root-cause analysis, with the ability to recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Relevant safety certifications (e.g., WSQ courses, NEBOSH, or equivalent) and knowledge of Singapore WSH legislation and codes of practice.
- Previous experience in construction or engineering environments, with strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence workers, supervisors, and management on safety matters.
- Ability to work on-site across different project locations, manage multiple tasks, and respond promptly to safety issues.
- Proactive mindset, commitment to safety, and willingness to participate in continuous learning and professional development.
