We are looking for a dedicated and proactive Safety Officer to ensure a safe, healthy, and compliant working environment across our manufacturing operations.

Role Overview

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented safety professional with experience in manufacturing, particularly within the automotive industry. The Safety Officer will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and continuously improving workplace safety, health, and environmental (SHE) practices while ensuring compliance with Malaysian regulations and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor workplace safety, health, and environmental (SHE) policies and procedures in compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), DOSH requirements, and other relevant regulations.
• Conduct regular workplace inspections, risk assessments (HIRARC), and safety audits to identify hazards, recommend corrective actions, and ensure continuous compliance.
• Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses, prepare detailed reports, identify root causes, and implement preventive and corrective actions.
• Organize and conduct safety induction programs, toolbox meetings, emergency response drills, and safety awareness training for employees and contractors.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, IATF 16949, and other applicable safety, environmental, and automotive industry standards.
• Monitor the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and enforce adherence to company safety policies and safe work practices.
• Liaise with government authorities, including DOSH, BOMBA, and other regulatory agencies, during inspections, audits, and compliance activities.
• Maintain and update safety documentation, permits, records, and statutory reports to ensure compliance with legal and company requirements.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and HR departments to promote a strong safety culture and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitor environmental compliance, waste management practices, and emergency preparedness programs to minimize operational risks.

Who We're Looking For

• Minimum 1–5 years of experience as a Safety Officer in a manufacturing environment (automotive industry experience is an advantage).
• Possess a valid Green Book (Registered Safety and Health Officer) issued by DOSH Malaysia.
• Strong knowledge of the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), Factories and Machinery Act (FMA), Environmental Quality Act, and other relevant Malaysian regulations.
• Experience in conducting HIRARC, accident investigations, safety audits, and emergency response planning.
• Familiarity with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and automotive quality systems is an added advantage.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
