Job Description

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and own the end-to-end security test strategy across all products, covering development, qualification, and sustaining phases

  • Architect security validation frameworks for current and next generation SSD platforms

  • Lead root-cause analysis on critical security failures, customer escalations, and field escapes — drive systemic corrective actions

  • Drive security test automation strategy, tooling roadmap, and regression infrastructure at scale

  • Partner with firmware architects and system architects on secure design, threat modeling, and code reviews

  • Communicate security risks, coverage gaps, and mitigation plans to cross-functional teams and senior leadership

  • Mentor senior and junior engineers; provide technical leadership and set the standard for security validation excellence across the organization

  • Integrates AI-assisted tools and insights into daily work to improve efficiency, quality, or effectiveness, exercising sound judgment and complying with organizational standards and legal requirements.

  • Contributes to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, testing, and sharing AI-enabled enhancements within one’s scope of work.

Requirements

  • B.S. or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent

  • Over 6 years of experience in SSD firmware testing, firmware development, security validation, or related storage technologies.

  • Deep understanding of SSD security architecture, PCIe/NVMe protocols, and storage industry trends.

  • Hands-on knowledge of TCG Opal, NVMe Security, SPDM, Secure Boot, cryptography, FIPS, hardware Root of Trust, and key management architectures is an advantage

  • Strong background in embedded firmware systems, Python-based test automation, and validation framework development.

  • Proven track record leading security validation and qualification strategies across multiple SSD product generations.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence architecture decisions and drive cross-functional initiatives

  • Industry recognition or contributions (publications, patents, standards participation) is a plus

  • Ability to apply baseline digital fluency and role‑appropriate AI literacy to use AI‑enabled tools responsibly and effectively for research, analysis, content creation, problem‑solving, operational tasks, and achieving business outcomes
