Job Summary: The Accountant is a versatile and integral role within an organization, responsible for managing financial operations and human resources functions. This role involves a combination of financial management, budgeting, payroll administration, and HR-related responsibilities, while also managing administrative responsibilities to ensure the smooth operation of the workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management: Oversee day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
- Purchasing: Assist the team in preparing purchase orders and monitoring the deliveries and shipments of each order.
- Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow and ensure timely payments to vendors.
- Audit and Compliance: Assist with financial audits, tax compliance, and regulatory reporting. Maintain accurate financial records for auditing purposes.
Human Resources:
- Recruitment: Participate in the recruitment process, including drafting job descriptions, posting job vacancies, conducting interviews, and onboarding new employees.
- Employee Relations: Handle employee relations issues, providing support, and ensuring a positive work environment. Address grievances and mediate conflicts.
- Payroll Processing: Manage the payroll process, including calculation of salaries, benefits, and deductions. Ensure timely and accurate disbursement of employee salaries.
- Benefits Administration: Administer employee benefits programs, including processing of staff claims and monitoring of employee leave records.
- HR Documentation: Maintain and update employee records, including personnel files, attendance records, and performance evaluations.
- HR Policies and Compliance: Develop, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures in compliance with local labor laws and regulations.
- Training and Development: Coordinate and support training and development activities for employees to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Administration:
- Office Management: Ensure the efficient operation of the office, including managing supplies, equipment, and facilities.
- Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to various departments, including scheduling meetings, handling correspondence, and maintaining office records.
- Vendor Management: Oversee relationships with external vendors.
- Health and Safety: Implement and enforce health and safety policies and procedures to create a safe work environment.
- Event Coordination: Coordinate company events, meetings, and workshops, including logistics, catering, and other arrangements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Proven experience in finance and human resources, preferably in a similar combined role.
- Knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in HR and financial software and tools.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multitask.
