Job Description

The successful candidate will work with Zhang Chun on computational studies of thermoelectric effects at nanoscale under a project on “ab initio modelling of thermoelectric effects in materials: Beyond the linear response regime”.

The main responsibilities of the position include:

• Design a new ab initio method for modelling nanoscale thermoelectric effects.
• Investigate thermoelectric effects in experimentally fabricated nanoscale materials with the proposed ab initio method.

Qualifications

PhD in Physics, Chemistry or Materials Science.

Skills:
Experienced in parallel coding; Expert in DFT-based computational theories and software; Familiar with nonequilibrium modelling of quantum systems.  

Experience:
Published first-author papers in main-stream journals in computational condensed matter physics, materials physics or quantum chemistry.
