Job Description
Responsibilities
We are seeking a visionary Creative Specialist (In-house Video Content) to join the HONOR Malaysia marketing team. We are not looking for a routine video editor who relies on historical templates. We want a dynamic visual storyteller, content innovator, and tech-forward creator who can translate smartphone tech innovations into thumb-stopping, high-engagement videos. You will own the entire in-house creative video lifecycle—from daily social trend-jacking to New Product Launch (GTM) campaigns—engineering visual hooks that captivate consumers and directly drive smartphone pre-orders and sales.
Core Responsibilities1. Creative Concept Ideation & Storyboarding
Break away from repetitive templates to pitch, develop, and write original, highly creative concepts and storyboards for multi-platform social media campaigns (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, etc.).
Design high-impact visual hooks specifically engineered to maximize viewer retention and audience engagement within the first three seconds.
2. New Product Launch (GTM) Video Campaigns
Teasers & Hype Content: Brainstorm and execute high-impact product teaser videos ahead of official smartphone launches to build massive consumer anticipation and drive pre-registrations.
Unboxing & Premium Reviews: Script, film, and produce polished, highly professional unboxing videos and early hands-on reviews highlighting the premium design, build quality, and aesthetics of upcoming HONOR devices.
Feature-Specific Deep Dives: Translate complex smartphone specifications into digestible visual narratives. Create dedicated videos showcasing core selling points (e.g., MagicOS AI features, camera portrait capabilities, display drop resistance, and battery endurance).
Local Event Coverage: Capture, edit, and produce high-turnaround highlight reels and localized social content for physical launch events, media experiential previews, and localized roadshows.
3. AIGC (AI-Generated Content) Integration & Innovation
Workflow Optimization: Actively integrate cutting-edge AIGC workflows (e.g., text-to-video, image-to-video, AI voiceover generation, and smart script writing) to dramatically accelerate production turnaround times without sacrificing creative quality.
Next-Gen Creative Assets: Leverage AI generation tools to conceptualize complex visual effects, abstract technological B-rolls, background assets, and innovative graphics that standard studio setups cannot easily capture.
AI Feature Storytelling: Utilize your hands-on understanding of generative AI to effectively communicate and demonstrate HONOR's on-device AI capabilities through compelling, practical video use-cases.
4. Daily Social Media Content & Trend-Jacking
Develop, shoot, and edit native, vertical short-form content designed to maximize organic engagement, shares, and algorithmic reach.
Actively monitor social media algorithms, pop culture shifts, internet humor, audio trends, and smartphone photography challenges to deploy rapid, reactive "trend-jacking" content strategies.
5. Production & Post-Production Excellence
Studio & Location Production: Lead the entire physical production workflow in the in-house studio or on-location, masterfully managing professional camera equipment (mirrorless/cinema), studio lighting arrays, gimbals, and audio capture gear under varying environments.
Advanced Editing: Execute complex post-production workflows, including high-level video editing, color grading, sound design, and the seamless integration of motion graphics or visual effects.
Photography Assets: Produce crisp, lifestyle, and product-focused photographic assets alongside video footage to ensure a unified visual ecosystem across all digital marketing channels.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Performance Insights
Collaborate closely with the brand, PR, and product teams to deeply understand campaign goals, target audience psychology, and the key communication angles for different product series (Flagship Magic Series, Numbered Series, X Series).
Ensure all creative output pushes artistic boundaries while remaining strictly aligned with corporate brand guidelines and strategic messaging.
Analyze video performance data (retention rates, click-throughs) alongside the social media team to continuously optimize visual storytelling for higher sales conversion.
1. Education & Experience
Portfolio/Showreel (Absolute Must-Have): A powerful portfolio demonstrating exceptional filming sense, advanced editing, and concrete examples of creative video content (preferably tech/lifestyle related) that achieved high organic engagement.
Experience: 3–5 years of hands-on experience in video production, creative content creation, or digital agency environments. Experience in the smartphone or consumer tech industry is a massive advantage.
Education: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Creative Multimedia, Film/Video Production, Mass Communications, or a related field (equivalent outstanding practical portfolio proof is highly valued).
2. Technical Skills & Competencies
Technical Mastery & Production: Master-level understanding of professional mirrorless/cinema cameras, lighting setups (studio and outdoor), professional lighting arrays, gimbals, and studio audio equipment under varying environments.
Post-Production & Software Expertise: Expert proficiency in industry-standard editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut Pro) and graphic/photo design tools (Photoshop).
AIGC Tool Competency: Practical proficiency with mainstream AI content creation tools to augment creative asset building and accelerate post-production workflows.
3. Professional Attributes
Commercial Acumen: A strong understanding of social commerce and digital marketing funnels—knowing how a creative video successfully transitions a viewer into a buyer.
Tech-Savviness: A genuine passion for tech, mobile gaming, and smartphone photography/videography, with a strong ability to translate tech jargon into lifestyle-relatable visual hooks.
Autonomy, Speed & Ownership: Highly autonomous worker with excellent time-management skills; able to take a rough product briefing sheet and transform it into a completed, polished master delivery under aggressive launch timelines.
Soft Skills: High emotional intelligence, a collaborative spirit, and the ability to accept constructive, data-driven feedback to optimize creative performance.
