Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY:

The FP&A Data Analyst is responsible for supporting financial and operational analytics through data extraction, transformation, and reporting; developing and maintaining datasets and reporting tools; and providing data-driven insights to support financial planning and business decision-making.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (COMPETENCIES):

  • Support the development, maintenance, and analysis of the Economic P&L across regions, business units, and product groupings

  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial results utilizing Economic P&L, including variance analysis versus budget, forecast, prior year, and strategic targets

  • Own data extraction, transformation, and analysis from multiple systems using SQL

  • Develop and maintain datasets and reporting structures to support FP&A and operational analytics

  • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for financial and business performance tracking

  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes through data preparation and analysis

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and reporting needs

  • Partner with regional and business leadership teams to understand financial performance drivers and provide actionable insights on revenue, margin, and operating expense trends

  • Prepare management reporting packages and presentations for leadership review, highlighting key business and regional performance trends

  • Identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities through data analysis

  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across systems and reports

  • Support financial modeling and scenario analysis using structured datasets

  • Improve reporting processes through automation and data workflow enhancements

  • Support financial statement and audit requests as needed

  • Perform other ad hoc requests and special projects as needed

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Finance, Computer Science, or related discipline

  • 2–5 years related work experience

  • Experience with a for-profit manufacturing company preferred

  • Advanced SQL skills (joins, CTEs, data transformation, large datasets)

  • Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar)

  • Basic understanding of financial concepts (P&L, forecasting, KPIs)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel

  • ERP and data warehouse experience preferred

  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills

  • Ability to work independently with verbal or written instructions

  • Strong problem solving, documentation, research/resolution, and data analysis skills
