Crisis & Continuity Management & Security Specialist – Asia Pacific & China
Role Overview
The Crisis & Continuity Management (CCM) & Security Specialist plays a key role in strengthening Crisis & Continuity Management and Security across the organization, with a particular focus on the Asia Pacific & China region. The role supports the Crisis & Continuity Management & Security Lead and contributes to building, maintaining, and continuously improving crisis management plans, procedures, and response capabilities.
This position is responsible for developing and updating emergency response, crisis, and business continuity plans while coordinating closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure information remains accurate and current. The role supports the design and delivery of training and exercises for regional and country response teams and contributes to the organization's overall operational resilience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and maintenance of tiered emergency response frameworks across the assigned region.
- Implement Crisis & Continuity Management and Security programs, including risk assessments, responder standards, tiered response frameworks, and travel security assessments (including event and hotel security).
- Maintain organizational readiness by training Incident Management Teams (IMTs) and Crisis Management Teams (CCTs), leading exercises, and delivering security awareness programs.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by incorporating lessons learned from incidents and exercises.
- Develop and update emergency response plans, workplace violence procedures, crisis communications, business continuity plans, and security protocols.
- Provide operational support for incidents, site assessments, event security, audits, and risk reviews.
- Manage relationships with law enforcement, emergency response agencies, security providers, and other external partners.
- Support the Business Security Representative (BSR) framework to ensure business operations remain safe, resilient, and aligned with organizational security standards.
- Monitor BSR activities, including risk management, incident reporting, contractor oversight, assurance follow-up, and maintenance of security risk registers.
- Mentor response teams and participate in the emergency on-call rotation, providing 24/7 support when assigned.
Experience & Qualifications
- Fluent in English and Mandarin.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline such as Science, Engineering, Risk Management, Emergency Management, Crisis Management, Security Management, Health & Safety, or International Relations.
- Professional certifications such as ASIS Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP) are preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Crisis Management, Emergency Response, Business Continuity, or Corporate Security.
- Experience supporting operational or manufacturing/FMCG environments.
- Strong experience preparing reports, plans, and executive communications.
- Experience leading discussions and presenting to senior leadership.
- Proven ability to facilitate training, coach teams, and lead emergency exercises.
- Energy industry experience is preferred.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure, prioritize competing demands, and make decisions with incomplete information.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and project management tools is an advantage.
